Here’s a dj that we have been wanting to have over at mona for quite a while. I first heard about him a few years back through my good friend Soulsam who runs Spacefunk webradio, his dj mixes were being passed around over the internet like hot cakes ! The were so well  mixed especially considering the type of music he plays : early eighties disco funk boogie – all djs know how difficult it is to mix this music with it’s ever changing rhythms, and the quality of his selection was impeccable, so many unheard of tracks that we have been wanting to pick up ever since. I definitely had to know more about this guy! When our next discofunk themed mona night came around it was only too logical to fly Red Greg over from London as our special guest and of course have Soulsam to open the night! To add some extra spice to things I asked Beki D to come down and perform covers of three disco classics which she executed brilliantly and really got the crowd into the right mood for the party. So all this good music, drag performers and a crazy open minded dressed up disco head crowd made up for a mad final mona night … final for the season only, as we’re back in September of course !
